Simon Whitehouse CSyP CPP PSP FSyI MIET RISC

Founder and Managing Director

Simon works internationally from SGW's UK and Dubai offices, leading a consulting team that provides security master planning and security engineering services. Simon is a seasoned security practitioner, company director, and practice leader with extensive experience gained over a 37-year career span solely focused on the security engineering & security management industry profession. Simon is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), Fellow of the Security Institute (FSyI), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and Physical Security Professional (PSP).

In Dubai, Simon is a Government of Dubai - Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA) - Licenced Security Consultant, and his branch office in Dubai is also a SIRA Licenced security consulting practice. Simon is also listed in the Red Book as a SABRE Registered Assessor. Simon’s SABRE licence number is SLC-004-001, and BRE licences him to display the SABRE Badge of Recognition accordingly.

Simon was a Director of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) from 2007 to 2009, supporting the development of CPD and Consec on behalf of the association. In April 2017, Simon was elected by the membership to be a Director of The Security Institute, the UK’s largest professional membership body for security professionals. He fulfilled this voluntary role for 13 months. During that time, he was responsible for international development and represented The Security Institute on the board of The Register of Chartered Security Professionals.

Richard Roberts BSc (Hons) MSc CEng PSP CSMP CCTP MSyI

Principal Security Consultant

Richard is a highly experienced, and knowledgeable security consultant and chartered engineer, with a comprehensive understanding of the threat and risk assessment in addition to physical and electronic security design.

Richard has gained considerable experience in the design and project delivery of large-scale integrated security projects in the built environment within the required budget and timescale. He is highly technically competent with knowledge of electronic security systems and data network designs for both new build and refurbishment projects, in both the public and private sectors.

Richard’s area of expertise includes the application of Risk Management and the Risk Assessment cycle (ISO 31000), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Counter-Terrorism design principles and smart cities.
Richard has experience in carrying out security risk assessments, developing conceptual security designs and detailed technical security designs on a number of projects in the UK and internationally.

Alan Meyrick MSc CPP CSMP® CCTP MSyI

Senior Security Consultant

Alan is a highly skilled security practitioner with 14 years of experience. His knowledge of risk and security methodologies and theories provides a robust underpinning to the consultancy work he undertakes, allowing him to deliver risk-based projects across numerous environments and sectors. Areas of expertise include the application of Risk Management and the Risk Assessment cycle (ISO 31000), Lead on SGW's Digital Risk Mapping & Software Based Risk Register Service, BREEAM HEA-06 Security Needs Assessments, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Situational Crime Prevention paradigms and Counter-Terrorism strategies.

Alan has an MSc in Security and Risk Management, a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) ASIS, BTEC Level 4 in Managing Security Surveys, C & G Level 4 in Security Risk Management and PTTLS Training Qualification. Alan is a SABRE Registered Assessor and SABRE Registered Professional in the area of ‘Threat Assessment’ and ‘Risk Assessment’. Alan’s SABRE licence number is SLC-004-002, and he is licenced by BRE to display the SABRE Badge of Recognition accordingly.

Most recently, Alan completed the Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner (CCTP) programme and the Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP®) Level 6 Accredited Diploma.

Senior Technical Security Consultant & Project Manager

Andrew is a highly accomplished technical engineer and professional project manager with extensive experience in project management incorporating technical design, spanning over 35 years. Confident and versatile with far-reaching and varied knowledge across a broad range of client and employer sectors, with an in-depth understanding of detailed business protocols and practices. Possessing a strong background in technical design, managing and delivering technical projects within the private and commercial sectors, working across a wide spectrum of large and small clients.

In addition to vast technical skills, Andrew possesses strong people skills, which has enabled him to successfully deliver challenging and complex technical projects on time, within budget, and in most instances, far exceeding customer quality expectations. He has an in-depth understanding of a broad range of industry methodologies; is people and results-focused; is exceedingly resourceful with a demonstrable record of business success, and displays maturity and balance - fostering a good work ethic with a wealth of transferable skills.

Andrew's areas of technical expertise include; IT networking, telecommunications, data communications, HCI integration, BMS, SCADA, audio messaging and fire evacuation (PA / VA) visual displays, cable infrastructure, CCTV and infrastructure communications, analytical fault finding, Intruder detection systems, access control and communications systems. He is a PRINCE 2 practitioner in project management methodology and is certified in the use of AutoCAD, Revit and VideoCAD Professional software platforms.

Sheena Mathew PSP Btech

Security Consultant

Sheena is an ASIS International certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) and an experienced Electronics Engineer who has worked throughout the Middle East for over 16 years. Her early career experience was gained by supporting well-known security systems integrators to develop designs and estimations for security and life safety systems. Working from SGW’s Dubai office, Sheena has further developed her knowledge of security master planning and electronic + physical security design as a consulting engineer, working in support of SGW’s Senior and Principal security consultants. She has experience in Security and ELV design & estimation, with in-depth knowledge of various systems - CCTV, Access Control, Gate Barrier Systems, Bollards, and Parking Management Systems.

Steve Nixon MSyI

Security Consultant

Steve has a broad spectrum of experience within the Fire & Security industry, encompassing more than 25 years at all engineering levels.

Steve’s skill set includes the design & delivery of Enterprise and mission-critical solutions, to the private & public sectors, particularly in CNI & NOMS environments.

He is accomplished at always getting complex systems over the finishing line, in the arenas of Rail, Critical National Infrastructure, Government, Police, and Blue-Chip Enterprise solutions. He has many superlatives to his name, including the largest ever infrastructure CCTV installation undertaken in the UK and, the technical delivery of the largest single-company ANPR solution to a UK Police Force.

Michael Mooney BA MSyI

Senior Security Consultant

Michael has 23 years of direct security industry experience, 10 of those years being with G4S in Senior Management roles, including Divisional Director and Country Manager.

Michael has Risk Management and consulting experience throughout the Middle East as a Senior Security Consultant for G4S Risk Management UAE and a Senior Security Consultant at SCC and KDOCS (Embedded at SWCC in the Industrial Security Department as Lead Consultant). This includes (amongst others) the conducting of Security Risk Assessment (SRA) studies using API methodology, the preparation of Concept of Design studies and operational security consulting.

Michael has Operational Consultancy experience directed at the development of Security-related standards, procedures, and processes. This includes developing the Security Structures / Manning and organisational development / Training.

Michael has extensive experience undertaking security risk and vulnerability assessments for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) water industry. These assessments comply with the directives issued by the High Commission for Industrial Security, Ministry of Interior, KSA. This includes the preparation of SRA and the Concept of Design studies.

Senior Explosion Effects Engineer

Patrick has almost 20 years of experience in risk engineering, with a focus on risk and performance-based assessment and design to suit specific damage tolerability criteria or performance requirements. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institutes of Risk Management (MIRM) and the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES). He has completed numerous projects across the defence, nuclear, oil & gas, insurance and commercial sectors; providing support to consultancies, contractors and manufacturers of façade, window and door products.

Nabeel Hamsa

CAD Lead Designer

Nabeel is a talented, confident, and highly motivated CAD Lead Designer with a positive attitude and good customer relationship skills.

Nabeel has around 14 years of U.A.E experience in the Design Department with a specialization in security systems, structural-concrete, architectural & infrastructure projects. Also well versed in client/authorities’ approval.

Nabeel has experience in security risk assessments, developing conceptual security designs and detailed technical security designs, and site surveys on various projects, both in the UK and internationally. In 2023, Nabeel was certified in Revit MEP Essentials, by an approved AutoDesk training academy.

Kate Whitehouse BSc

Finance Manager

Kate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from St. Joseph’s College, Philippines. She has over 17 years of experience in Human Resources, Administration, Accounts and Logistics, with the last five years focused on Finance and Administration Management of SGW across three offices in the Middle East, United Kingdom and Asia. Kate is also a qualified BSI Auditor and is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of SGW’s Quality Management System which is externally accredited by British Standards Institution (BSI) to ISO 9001:2008 standard.
