    SGW is pleased to signpost our current vacancies. We are looking for exceptional individuals who share our ethos, to join our team, in the following roles: –

    SGW provides a wide portfolio of professional consulting services relating to the safety & security of the built environment. Our projects are diverse and spread across a number of vertical market sectors internationally.

    Due to continued expansion, SGW now wishes to appoint individuals into the following roles;

    • Security Consultant / Senior Design Engineer

    • Graduate Trainee Security Design Engineer

    Each role can be home-based or based at our Nottingham UK office. Each role will necessitate travel to customer sites in the UK and internationally to conduct site security surveys and participate in design team co-ordination meetings and stakeholder workshops.

    Each position will focus on the conceptual and detailed design of complex and often sophisticated security, building management and fire systems, including access control, CCTV, intruder detection, physical security measures, fire alarms, life safety systems and integrated building management systems.

    The desired candidates should have a technical degree (Preferably electrical / building services engineering) or a relevant technology related BTEC diploma qualification. Registration with the engineering council at EngTech or IEng grade would be advantageous but relevant experience may also be taken into consideration. The ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is also deemed a suitable qualification for this post. Experience in and knowledge of CCTV, Electronic & Physical Security Systems design and project management is preferred.

    Candidates should have reasonable competence in 2D Auto-CAD and Visio drawing design software and should be eager and willing to learn new technologies and products. Primary responsibilities will be the preparation of feasibility, outline and detailed design reports and documentation relating to security, fire and building management related projects.

    You will prepare tender packages including performance or detailed design based specification, bills of quantities, site and building plans showing point by point requirements of the project, system schematics and visualisations.

    You will be expected to further develop a reasonable competence in Auto-CAD Building Design Suite including 3D Max & Revit and Adobe Creative Suite software and should be eager and willing to learn new software, technologies and products. You will also be expected to participate in continued professional development (CPD) activities.

    You will be expected to build relationships with manufacturers and hold regular meetings with manufacturers and integrator’s to assist you to prepare a final scheme design or tender package. Strong technical written, organisational, communication and presentation skills are very important and shortlisted candidates will be expected to present previous examples of drawings, design data, presentations or specifications prepared in a similar current or previous role.

    An understanding and experience of current British & International Standards in both electronic & physical security would be a significant advantage.

    • SGW Awarded Position on ESPO Framework

    Following submission of a competitive tender, SGW is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a position on the ESPO framework 628, which runs until the 30th April 2022.

    SGW’s award relates to a position on the following ESPO framework;

    Framework 628 – Security and Surveillance Equipment & Services – Lot 6 – Independent Security Consultancy Services

    This ESPO framework provides access to a range of security and surveillance solutions including public and private space CCTV, access control, intruder detection, independent security consultancy, ANPR cameras and body-worn video cameras.

    Framework scope

    This ESPO framework provides access to a range of security and surveillance solutions including public and private space CCTV, access control, intruder detection, independent security consultancy, ANPR cameras and body-worn video cameras.

    The framework can be utilised via a direct call-off with your preferred supplier based on the terms published within the User Guide, or via a further competition exercise amongst all suppliers that are capable of meeting your requirement.

    There are eight Lots within the framework:

    • Lot 1 – Public Space Surveillance Systems.
    • Lot 2 – Private Space Surveillance Systems.
    • Lot 3 – Access Control Systems.
    • Lot 4 – Intruder Detection Systems.
    • Lot 5 – Integrated Security Solutions

  3. Dubai Security Consultant Appointment

    SGW is pleased to announce the appointment of Dubai Security Consultant, Farid Mukadam MBA.

    Farid shall be based at SGW’s Dubai World Central (DWC) office in the United Arab Emirates, from where he is responsible for delivering technical security consulting assignments across the GCC and wider Middle East Region. He will be responsible for technical security consultancy project delivery, preparation of commercial proposals and managing relationships with SGW’s customer base in the UAE & GCC Regions.

    Farid is a professional consultant, who has been working in security engineering related consulting roles from a UAE base, since 2006, with more than 12 years in the ELV security systems industry.

    Farid is fluent in English, Arabic, Hindi & Urdu and has completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management and has a Diploma in Engineering (Industrial Electronics).

    Farid has an extensive portfolio of successfully completed security consulting projects, which includes Dubai Parks & Resorts Project, The Avenues Mall – Phase 2 – Dubai, King Khalid Medical City – Saudi Arabia, Four Seasons Hotel – Abu Dhabi, The Crescent Development – Baku, Azerbaijan, Dubai Pearl development, Fairmont Hotel Projects in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, Ras Laffan Port – Doha, Qatar, Manarat Al-Saadiyat Museum and The Royal Office – Oman.

    Farid is a Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) approved Security Consultant in Dubai and a Registered member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).

  4. DPS Approved Security Consultant

    SGW Safety & Security Limited (Dubai Branch) are pleased to announce DPS Approved Security Consultant Status by Dubai Police – Department of Protective Systems – for the services category Security Studies and Consultancies.

    Department of Protective Systems is a sub-department of Dubai Police General Head Quarters. It has been established by a verdict of his Excellency Dubai Police General Commander in December, 1999. The department specializes in regulation and supervision of security industry in Dubai; which was formed Pursuant to Dubai Local Law no. 13 of 2005 and the Federal Law No. 37 of 2006.

    Dubai Police – Department of Protective Systems (DPS) work to organize and support the security industry in Dubai, In order to achieve the highest international standards with the participation of the private security sector, to protect the society and to reduce the crime rate in the Emirate of Dubai.
