  1. Dubai PSP Study Course – September 2016

    SGW are pleased to announce that our next Physical Security Professional – PSP® – Exam Preparation & Intense Study Course is scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates – over a 3 day period – Between Monday 26th and Wednesday 28th September 2016.

    If you are considering to study for ASIS International PSP Certification, or want to learn more about how to manage a physical security project throughout it’s life-cycle, this course is for you.

    The Physical Security Professional (PSP)® credential provides demonstrated knowledge and experience in threat assessment and risk analysis; integrated physical security systems; and the appropriate identification, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of security measures.   2. Approved Training Centre Status

    SGW are pleased to announce that we have attained ‘Approved Center Status’ by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC). The approved center status will now enable SGW to offer externally accredited CCTV and Security courses, some of which are regulated qualifications and thus recognised by regulatory bodies such as the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

    Under the Private Security Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must hold a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

    Individuals working in the private security industry must undergo a structured training programme, resulting in one of the recognised security qualifications. Applicants who do not hold a qualification endorsed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) may have their licence application refused.

    Highfield’s security qualifications are fully endorsed by the SIA and the relevant regulatory authority.

    SGW’s ‘Approved Centre Status’ will see the company providing the HABC Level 2 Award for working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry (QCF). This course can be taken at our centre in Edwinstowe House, Nottinghamshire, UK, or at client locations by arrangement.

     

  3. Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner (CCTP)

    SGW have entered into an agreement with the Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner (CCTP) board based in Singapore, to become their agent and representative of the Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner programme in the United Kingdom.

    The first course is scheduled to take place in London in November 2016. Final dates and venue to be released shortly.

    The CCTP certification assesses your ability to apply counter terrorism and security planning knowledge to real-life situations. Successful completion of CCTP Program tells your prospective clients, industry professionals, other experts and future employers that you have met rigorous professional standards of competence in protection, defence and security planning.

    CCTP is a credential which provides demonstrable proof of knowledge and expertise in terrorism prevention, detection and deterrence.
    The credential will be awarded to the eligible candidates who have successfully passed the examination which assesses the knowledge of 14 main areas in the field of counter-terrorism.

    Developed by practitioners for practitioners, the CCTP’s addresses wide range of terrorist threats such as: –

    • Suicide bombers
    • Improvised Explosive Devices
    • Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices
