Sandwell Homes, an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) awarded SGW the contract to assist them with the expansion of security throughout their social housing network in January 2008.

The £2.2 million project included a new centralised CCTV and concierge control centre, monitoring more than 500 cameras throughout the 50+ high rise residential blocks.

Since the mid 1990’s the former Sandwell Housing Department and now Sandwell Homes has evolved into the principal provider of public space surveillance CCTV for the Borough. Around 475 cameras are currently monitored across 8 manned sites within residential flatted estates on a 24/7 basis. From one of these sites West Bromwich Town Centre and surrounding streets are monitored.

SGW provided consultancy services to Sandwell Homes from January 2008 for a period of nearly 3 years, from initial feasibility, design, development, procurement support and project management of a centralised Concierge Service, Public Space Surveillance and Alarm Monitoring Operation. The centralised concierge service is one of SGW’s largest projects which we are proud to see has become a success story.
