SGW were appointed by Strzala Architect to provide security consulting for Doncaster Railway Station, on behalf of Virgin Trains East Coast (VTEC).

The station serves the town of Doncaster, South Yorkshire and is situated on the East Coast Main Line managed by Virgin Trains East Coast. The station is a major interchange between the East Coast Main Line and the Cross-Country Route, and local services running across the North of England. The station is also the point for which Virgin Trains East Coast services from London Kings Cross divide, branching off to Leeds or continuing North to Scotland via Newcastle and the North East.

SGW were appointed to complete a Security Threat and Risk Assessment and Provision of Security Assessment information for Explosion Effects Engineer, Security Gap Analysis and Determination of Credible Design Based Threats and Provision of Security Assessment information for Explosion Effects Engineer.

Following this, SGW were assigned to provide a Security Concept Report. The report introduced the concept of a structured methodology, to determine the security requirements based on the identified threats and vulnerabilities to the site. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles were outlined in order to mitigate the potential risks.
